Tuesday Teaching Class - B1G1 FREE Coupons

How To Use B1G1 FREE Coupons

When I first started  "Super Couponing"  one of the areas of couponing that confused me were B1G1 FREE coupons.  So I thought this would be a good topic to learn or review as many store policies have changed.

Let's first take a look at the most common area.  B1G1 FREE coupon with a B1G1 FREE sale.  When this occurs you will need to bring (4) items up to the counter.  You pay for (1) item and receive (3) FREE. Let's use Cereal $1.99 a box for an example.

This is the coupon policy for Tops, Wegmans, and Rite Aid.
Sale                             Coupon
Cereal (1) $1.99           Purchased Item
Cereal (2) FREE
Cereal (3) $1.99           (Free Item)
Cereal (4) FREE
Total = $1.99 for (3) boxes

At CVS and Walgreens if there is a B1G1 FREE Sale and a B1G1 FREE coupon bring up (2) items and receive both for FREE.

Your transaction would look like this
Sale                            Coupon
Cereal (1) $1.99        (Free Item)
Cereal (2) FREE       Purchased Item ("buy one" part of the coupon)
Total = Both FREE

Now you can also stack a B1G1 Free coupon with a $ off coupon at Walgreens
Lets say you have a B1G1 Free coupon on Cheerios and a $1 off Cheerios coupon.

Your transaction would look like this
Sale                             Coupon
Cereal (1) $1.99          (Free Item)
Cereal (2) $1.99          - $1
Total = .99¢ for (2) boxes

So does that help?  Still confused?  Let me know!
