One of the many goals in 2012 is trying to be more frugal and find alternatives for expensive items I use often. I love my Swiffer Wet Jet but I HATE...HATE how expensive it is. The Refill Pads sell for around $6.99 for 12 and the cleaner is $4.99.
We go through a (1) box of refill pads and (1) refill cleaner a month (I have a basset hound with muddy feet). This equals $11.98 a month * 12 months = $143.76 YIKES!!!! Now there are some coupons to be found but they are not that good. The coupons usually are for the starter kit or .50¢ for a refill, YEAH that's going to add up.
So what have a done? I went to Walmart and picked up a Shark Steam Pocket Mop for $79.00.
What I LOVE ABOUT IT:
1. The head swivels 180 degrees. You can clean with one side and sterilize with the other side.
2. When you push on the had several times you get a blast of steam to clean the tough spots
3. Heats up in a snap.
4. Came with (3) cleaning pads
5. No chemicals
6. Came with a carpet glider that freshens and deodorizes
7. And Wow I thought my Swiffer did a good job cleaning the floor. I was shocked how dirty the pad was. I had just swiffer moped the day before.
8. The cost! This baby will pay for it's self in 6 months.
This post is my own opinion and I am NOT being compensated in any way.
What are you doing to be more frugal in 2012? Any tips or suggestions.
Would love to hear them and share!
