What's For Supper? - Home Made Sloppy Joe!

 

Home Made Sloppy Joe's with fries and applesauce

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef 

1/2 of Sweet onion (chopped)
  $1 for full onion
   .50¢ Wegmans

1/2 of a green pepper (chopped)
  $1 for full pepper
  .50¢ Purchased at Tops

1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  Muir Glen Organic Sauce at Wegmans $1.79
  - .85¢ on ANY variety of Muir Glen products printable
  = .09¢

2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon Garlic salt
Dash of hot sauce
Bread 
  .99¢ Wegmans Giant Bread WCLP
 Cost for meal for a few slices .16¢

  Paid .50¢ for a bag at Tops over the summer
  Cost .25¢ for 1/2 bag

Apple sauce
  $1.49 Wegmans Applesauce 23 oz
  Cost .75¢ half the jar


Step 1
In a large skillet saute your chopped pepper and onion with a tablespoon of olive oil, until translucent.

Step 2
While sauteing your vegetables
In a separate skillet cook up your ground beef over medium-high heat until meat is brown. Drain off the fat. (I don't like cooking my veggies in the fat from the beef)

Step 3
Add your vegetables to your beef.  Stir in tomato sauce, the water, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and hot sauce.

Step 4
Bring to a boil, reduce heat.  Simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes.  Server over bread or rolls.
