As some of you may now I am a mother to a 4 1/2 year old little girl. I have always given her apple juice. Durring the summer (I think) Dr. Oz revieled on his show that apple juice has arsenic in it. Well I was concerned then and have steered away from apple juice being a main drink in our home.
This sitrred a huge debate in the media, juice companies, and with the FDA basically saying that the Dr. Oz show was making to much of a hub bub over this.
Well this morning on the Today show here it is again! Only this time consumer reports is now rasing the same coners that Dr. Oz did months ago. It is so frustrating to me that any comapany or the FDA would say that ANY levels of arsenic is safe! The levels in apple juice are higher than our drinking water! Now there is a diffrence in organic arsenic and inorganic arsenic but still it is arsenic! Am I right or wrong?
Dr. Oz said it well this morning on the Today Show that several years ago we learned how harmful lead poisining is for children & adults. It took a while for manufacturers to stop producing products example paint (probably by pressure of society)! So what will it take for the juice manufacturers to stop!
A spokes woman for the juice manufacturer companies on the Today Show said that the levels are fine and they will not change how the production of apple juice is made unless mandated by the FDA.
Really??? Are you kidding me !#$!%
I feel it comes down to the all mighty American dollar. I sure don't know what the production process is but I would think any manufacture would want to put a healthy safe product out on the market!
